Here’s What’s Happening - Saturday, October 10, 2020 in Dunsmuir:
• Bite this Chew on That Pet Store will offer nail clipping for your pet from 3 to 6 pm for $10.
• Cafe Maddalena's is offering a special Second Saturday Prix Fixe menu. The meal includes Stuffed Squash Blossoms as the starter, Chicken Parmesan with Fettuccine as the main course and Poached Pears with Zabaione for dessert. $31 for this meal. Pair it with Chianti for $40. Reservations recommended at (530) 235-2725.
• The Cornerstone Restaurant is offering coffee for just a dollar from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Also, you can get a free scoop of matcha or vanilla when you buy a smoothie. You'll also want to check out their new breakfast menu and mediterranean lunches.
• The Dunsmuir Lodge now offers rides to and from the PCT trail. It costs $10 for hikers staying at the lodge, and $15 for folks who are not. For Second Saturday, rides will be $5 off.
• Get a pair of straight leg 5 pocket Dickie's Blue Jeans for $19.99 at the Dunsmuir Hardware store on Second Saturday. Also, ask them about the book on Dunsmuir that’s for sale at the store.
• At The Haven from 1:30-2:30 pm, Linda Mattos Soprano and classical guitarists Kevin McDowell and Mike Yee will perform classical music selections by J.S. Bach, Faure, Hahn, Mozart and more. The Haven will also hold a Second Saturday sale that includes Classical CD' for a $1, as well as Halloween specials on Mid Century Horror, Pulp and Science Fiction paperback novels. You'll also want to check out The Haven's extensive collections of chomolithographs and photogravures.
• Magic Mountain Massage & Wellness will have fun Tie Dye clothes on sale for 25% off, $10 off 1-hour Floatation Tank session and gift certificates.
• Mossbrae Hotel will feature landscape paintings by Dunsmuir local Brian Mackenzie from 3 to 6 pm. The Lone Arranger will play classical guitar from 3:30 to 5 pm. Also, Shastica Beauty Apothecary will do a pop up shop in the lobby and offer samples of her handcrafted products for sale. The first ten people to visit Shastica will receive a special Second Saturday gift. Pyroclastic Chocolate will also be selling her artisan chocolates.
• Register to vote at Pops Performing Arts from 2 to 5 pm and meet artist Tracy Hofmann. She is the contributing artist for the Tiny Pricks: Tweets, Textiles and Trump on display in the windows at Pops Performing Arts & Cultural Center. She will have Tiny Pricks needle point kits available if you want to contribute to the project.
• Medicine Music will host a dance event with DJ Brian Kadmiri on the patio at Pops Performing Arts from 7 to 10 pm. Entrance is $10 to 20. There will also be an acoustic guitar performance at 4 pm the following day, October 11 on the Patio with Rusty Miller.
•The Sacred Well will host a Goddess Market featuring jewelry and art by local artists from 12 to 6 pm. Receive a $1 off any of their healthy teas and coffees, too.
• Check out a new art show entitled "Let Freedom Ring" from noon to 5 pm at the Siskiyou Arts Museum. The show will be on display through November 7th.
• The Ted Fay Fly Shop will be paying your sales tax with any purchase in their store on Dunsmuir Second Saturday.
• Up n Running Espresso will offer two Second Saturday Specials: Spicy Sausage Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches and Harvest Muffins.
• The Wheelhouse will be offering a Chicken Philly Sandwich with American cheese, onions, french fries and Iced Tea or a Coors Banquet for $12.99.
